Abstract
Lansiranjem prvog satelita javlja se potreba za međunarodnim uređenjem prava svemira, iako je o tom prvu bilo govora i ranije. Ujedinjeni narodi preuzimaju vodeću ulogu u uređenju ove nove grane prava, putem Odbora za miroljubivu upotrebu svemira, kojeg ad hoc osnivaju. Rezultat rada odbora je pet međunarodnih konvencija koje do danas uređuju pravo svemira, iako zahtijevaju nadogradnju. U radu obrađujemo povijesni razvoj ove grane prava, sadržaj konvencija te posvećujemo vrijeme aktualnoj problematici u svemiru, odnosno njegovoj komercijalizaciji koja je najizraženija razvojem svemirskog turizma. Također ukratko obrađujemo problem otpada u svemiru koji je direktna posljedica povećane aktivnosti u svemiru.
Abstract (english)
Launching of first satelite made it necessary to internationally regulate law of the outer space, even tho there were discussion prior to the event. United nations took the leading role in this task, working via Committee on thePeaceful Uses of Outer Space. Result of Comitees work are five international conventions which are in need of actualisation. This paper provides overview of the historical background of this branch of international law and overview of content of the conventions. We discuss actual issues of the space law, such as comercialisation, which is best noted in blossoming of the space tourism. Also, paper mentions problem of space waste, which is direct by product of increased activity in space.
