Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) represents an international body competent for hearing disputes relating to basketball. This tribunal has made a significant contribution in ensuring compliance with contracts concluded in the world of professional basketball as well as in providing protection to professional players and an assurance their contracts would be honored. The establishment of a Basketball Arbitral Tribunal made it possible for all participants in the world of basketball to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently. Although it's been established relatively recently, this tribunal has an enviable number of resolved cases. Procedure before the BAT is regulated with its rules of arbitration, and the main features of such a proceeding are an arbitrator, resolving cases ex aequo et bono, absence of a hearing and considerable reduction and simplification of the procedure. This paper will analyze the procedure before the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal, which is, although affiliated with the umbrella world basketball organization - FIBA, an independent body in its functioning, as well as BAT rules governing the procedure before the said body.
