Real law as a branch of civil law represents an interpersonal relationship that arises due to the direct economic exploitation of things. In the Republic of Croatia, the law regulates what real rights are and how they can be classified. In addition to property rights, real rights also include the right of easement, right of lien, right of real encumbrance and right of constructiom. According to the classification, the right of ownership falls under tje real right on one´s own thing while the right of easement, right of lien, right of real encumbrance and right of construction fall under the real rights on someone else´s thing. In this paper, I will deal with the right of easement, and my goal is to present and approach each of the easements separately. The paper will refer to the rights, sevitudes and powers of the authorized person, aslo the ways of acquiring easements. According to the Law on Property and Other Real Rights, an easement represents a limited real right on someone´s thing that authorizes it´s holder to use that thing in a certain way, while it´s owner is obliged to suffer or otherwise miss something regarding it.
