SUMMARY The term added value means the newly created value that the entrepreneur adds to the final product through his actions. Today, It's taxation is the rule, not the exception. In most tax systems, value added tax occupies a special place because the revenues that the state collects on this basis are regularly the most generous. It is paid for by the entrepreneur, but its consequences are most felt by the consumer. It is a special way of taxing sales based on the logic that each participant in the production process must bear the tax liability only in relation to what he entered in the final product. This is achieved by deducting the part of the tax paid by the entrepreneur at an earlier stage of the production cycle from the final tax liability, which was included in the price of the product at the time when the entrepreneur acquired it. Accordingly, in the price of the product paid by the final consumer will be included the amount of tax that the seller will pay on the basis of that purchase, but the final consumer will not be able to deduct that amount from any future tax liability because the final consumer is not a taxpayer. Such a taxation system is called a witholding pre-tax system and, in the financial proffession, it has proven to be very optimal because it makes it difficult to avoid paying taxes. VAT is paid on all economic supplies of goods and services, except for those for which tax exemptions are specifically prescribed, and is paid at the rate determined by law, which doesn't necessarily have to be general.
